What you spend counts towards the next step, if you take it within 60 days.
The problem
Making music is no longer the hard part. A release can be produced in days; a convincing image in minutes. What has become expensive is choosing: which idea deserves your time, which project deserves a budget, and when to stop.
Most creators and small labels still decide the old way — make it first, release it, then look at the numbers and hope. By the time the numbers arrive, the money is spent and the lesson is unclear.
The Blueprint turns that around. You write down what you expect before you spend, design the smallest test that could prove you wrong, and decide on evidence.
What you will be able to do
After working through the Blueprint you can:
- describe your project as a venture: a world with an identity, an audience and an explicit hypothesis;
- write a hypothesis with a threshold and a stop rule, so you know in advance what success and failure look like;
- design the smallest useful test and choose signals that mean something (saves, return listening, follows) over numbers that only flatter;
- run a short reflection after each test and decide: continue, change shape or stop;
- put rights, credits and roles on paper before the spotlight — including how to document AI-assisted work;
- turn it all into a 90-day plan and a one-page decision memo.

Who it is for
For professional creators, independent artists with a body of work, managers, small labels and rights owners who want to make fewer, better decisions.
Not for anyone looking for a promotion hack, a playlist strategy or a guarantee of streams. The Blueprint will not tell you what to make. It helps you decide what is worth making, and how to find out quickly whether you were right.
Where the method comes from
The Blueprint is the practical companion to Building Music Ventures, the forthcoming book by David Cok — lawyer, entrepreneur and music creator. The method is the one Amini Music uses on its own ventures and reports on openly in Amini Labs: written hypotheses, small tests, documented results, including the ones that did not work.
David Cok is the founder of Amini Music, a Music Venture Studio whose catalogue goes back to 1984. He writes about music, rights and new creative business models in Notes.

Questions
- Is this the book?
- No. The book argues why the music business is changing. The Blueprint is the practical method: worksheets, templates and steps. You can use it without having read the book.
- What format is it?
- A PDF guide, a fillable PDF workbook and spreadsheet templates that work in Excel and Google Sheets. English.
- How long does it take?
- Reading takes an evening. Working through it on one real project takes most people a few focused sessions.
- Does it cover AI?
- Where it matters: how to document AI-assisted work and how to disclose it without overclaiming. It is a method for decisions, not a guide to AI tools.
- Is it legal advice?
- No. Chapter 8 helps you organise rights and roles. For specific legal questions, get specific legal advice.
- Can I get a refund?
- Because the Blueprint is a digital product delivered immediately, the statutory right of withdrawal ends once the download is made available — you confirm this when ordering. If the download does not work or a file is damaged, write to info [at] aminimusic.nl and we will fix it straight away.
- Can I share it with my team?
- The licence covers you and your own organisation. Please don't publish or resell it.
